Crews Practice Rescue Scenarios
This morning, crews and students practiced rescue scenarios involving patients trapped under large objects, in this case one of our squad vehicles. Teams were split to both lift the vehicle off of the mannequin used to simulate a patient, as well as practice providing medical care to patients in scenarios such as these. Special protocols which guide patient care involving crush injury were reviewed, as well as safety and proficiency using rescue tools. By regularly refreshing and drilling for scenarios that are uncommon, we can be ready to respond to anyone who finds themselves in need of help.
